St. Jude's Parish

Location:  J.P. Laurel Street, San Miguel, Manila

St. Jude's Parish was born on November 16, 1954. This parish was one of the very few in all the Philippine islands that is dedicated to St. Jude Thaddeus.

The evangelization of the Chinese in Manila came under the Dominicans and then the Chinese parish was attached to the Binondo parish that lasted until 1954.  In that year, 3 more parishes for the Chinese were erected, one of these was St. Jude Parish. On September 28, 1958 Archbishop Rufino J. Santos laid the cornerstone for the new edifice. From solid foundations rose foot by foot a worthy place of offering veneration to St. Jude.
